Consultation on messenger services
The consultation process on the test catalogue for a standardized messenger audit is currently underway. Professional users and civil society are invited to comment on the catalogue.

Messenger services are becoming more and more widespread both in private life and in everyday work. In order to create a uniform standard for the audit of these services, the BfDI has initiated the development of a test catalogue. The catalogue was created as part of the EDPB Support Pool of Experts format. The catalogue was developed mainly by Prof. Mathieu Cunche (INSA-Lyon) and the specialist division of the BfDI.
Until the end of the consultation period, comments and statements can be sent by e-mail to konsultation.messenger@bfdi.bund.de using the feedback form. The consultation process runs until 15 November 2024. The results will be published on the BfDI website.
The original version 1.0.0, which was at the end of the SPE project, can be found on the EDPB page.

Notes on using the feedback form
You can use the feedback form to send us your comments on the catalogue in a structured way. It is designed so that you fill out a new form for each requirement you wish to comment on.
In the form, you can specify the type of comment you would like to make regarding a requirement (e.g. change content or editorial comments, delete, and add a new requirement). You can also specify whether you have comments on the requirement itself (D1) or comments on the audit methodology (D2).
By selecting the "Element" field, you can directly select the requirement from the catalogue using its abbreviation (e.g. "LEG_BASIS_1"). The requirements can be found more quickly in most PDF programs by entering the abbreviation on the keyboard.
**Please make sure that the correct element is selected so that your annotations can be assigned to the correct requirement.**
You can propose a new wording for the requirement you want to change directly in the form and explain your suggestion in the reasoning field. If you have general comments on a requirement, you can also enter these in the reasoning field.
To make it easier to use, the form has buttons with which you can save your currently completed document individually (please ensure that the name you enter is unique so as not to overwrite previously completed forms) or send us the completed form directly by e-mail. (Hint: Multiple E-Mails are fine and expected.) The third button clears all completed fields so that you can proceed directly to the next comment.
Thank you for participating in the public consultation.
